Privacy Policy

No accounts, no sign-ups, no email list. We never ask for your name, email address or payment details. Here is the small amount of data this site does touch, and how to switch off the parts you don't want.

What we collect ourselves

• Votes. When you rate a title, we store a one-way hash made from your IP address and browser details so each person gets one vote per title. We never store the IP address itself, and the hash can't be turned back into it.
• Outbound clicks. When you click a watch button, we log which title and which service. Nothing that identifies you.
• Games and votes in your browser. Streaks, daily puzzle progress and which titles you've rated are saved in your own browser's local storage. They never reach our servers.
• Delivery. Our host, Cloudflare, processes IP addresses and basic request details to serve pages and block attacks, under Cloudflare's privacy policy.

What our partners collect

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to see which pages get read, what devices people use, roughly where they are (city level) and how they found us. It uses cookies. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can block it everywhere with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

Google AdSense

Ads here are served by Google. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google's Ads Settings, and opt out of many other vendors' use of cookies for personalized ads at aboutads.info. You'll still see ads. They just won't be based on your browsing.

Affiliate links

Some links to streaming services and stores are affiliate links. If you sign up or buy after clicking one, we may earn a commission at no cost to you. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. The merchant handles your account and payment under its own privacy policy. We never see either.

Images and fonts

Posters load from TMDB's image servers and fonts load from Google Fonts. Like any file host, those servers receive your IP address and browser details when they send you a file.

Your privacy choices

We don't sell your personal information for money. Under some US state laws, including California's, letting ad partners use cookies to personalize ads can count as "selling" or "sharing" personal information. You can opt out any of these ways:

• Global Privacy Control. If your browser or an extension sends a GPC signal, we honor it automatically: we request non-personalized ads from Google and turn off ad personalization signals in Google Analytics. Nothing to click.
• Google's controls. Turn off personalized ads in Ads Settings, or install the Analytics opt-out add-on.
• Your browser. Block or delete cookies at any time. Our cookie policy lists every one you'll see here.

Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to know what personal information a site holds about you, get a copy, correct it, delete it, or object to how it's used, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Because we don't run accounts, we usually hold nothing we can tie to you, but email us and we'll respond within 45 days. Using these rights will never change how the site treats you.

Children

BestNetflix is a general audience site and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you think a child has sent us some, email us and we'll delete it.

How long we keep things

Vote hashes stay for as long as the vote counts toward a title's reader score. Click logs are counts, not profiles. Google keeps analytics and ad data under its own retention rules.

Changes

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
