The Shining remains the most terrifying film I’ve ever seen. There’s something haunting and demented within these frames, and indeed the production of one of Stanley Kubrick’s masterpieces has been covered in depth. The unending takes, the mind tricks—poor Shelley Duvall. But you can’t deny the fact that Kubrick’s exacting nature paid off, and in the end he crafted an iconic piece of cinematic history; a masterful chronicle of madness. — Adam Chitwood
