While Saturday Night Live is not exactly known for spawning successful adaptations to the big screen, Wayne’s World stands as one of its absolute best. The hit sketch was translated beautifully into a feature film with care, precision, and heartfelt passion for live music. It’s a very silly movie no doubt, but Wayne’s World is as much love letter to rock and roll as it is one to buffoonery. Mike Myers and Dana Carvey are unforgettable in the lead roles, and it’s great to see Rob Lowe flexing his comedic muscles so early in his career. There’s some debate over which is better, Wayne’s World or the Woodstock-skewing Wayne’s World 2, but there’s no doubt that both films are very much worthwhile. After Wayne’s World, we never heard “Bohemian Rhapsody” the same way again. – Adam Chitwood
